Bigger & Better, Issue #001 -- What holds us back?
December 05, 2008

Welcome to Issue 1 of Natural-Muscle-Mass.com's Bigger & Better. I'd like to start off this series of newsletters by asking a simple question:

What holds us back from reaching our muscle mass potential?

If you've been training for years and have had little success in terms of building muscle or are a beginner to resistance training... asking yourself this question will give you the key to unlocking the door to the 'real' you.

The toughest challenge to building the body of your dreams is dealing with the elements that indirectly stop us. Only when we identify the exact reason why we aren't improving or reaching our goals could we begin to change our situation... for the better.

Chances are that if negative thoughts, conscious or subconscious, cloud your mind... you won't eat the right foods, rest well, or train properly. These negative thoughts are different for each individual. I'll use my own experiences to explain.

My new video shows my physical progression over a span of 10 years. I also explain in the video that I had to struggle to get to where I am today. What I don't mention in the video, however, is the deeper reason for my struggles.

What stopped me from achieving my goals were feelings of embarrassment for what I really wanted to do, indecision to go after what I wanted (regardless of the consequences), and a weak resistance towards negative criticism from virtually everyone around me. I only recently began following my heart and taking, what I believe to be, the necessary steps to achieving my goals.

It definitely hurts when family and friends put down or try to steer you away from your dream. Keep in mind that they sometimes do this either because they love you and don't want to see you get hurt (which is kind of ironic) or because they themselves are worried about what other people will say. Rest assured that when you believe in yourself and what you're doing, and take action towards it... People that previously put you down begin to respect, admire, and sometimes even follow you.

Whatever is holding you back, you can overcome by repeatedly telling yourself that whatever it is that you want to do has a valuable purpose in this world and is the only thing that will ultimately bring you prosperity.

I know it seems that I went a little off-topic, but truthfully speaking, if you can gain significant muscle mass, you can make lots of money, and you can develop/maintain great relationships with family/friends, etc. Everything is one and the same. You either choose to have everything, or you choose to have nothing.

Until next issue... Good luck in your pursuit of a bigger & better you,

Mario
